Se le ultime 48 ore ci hanno insegnato qualcosa, è che David Bowie non è morto. L'uomo che ha fatto della propria morte una rappresentazione teatrale, ha messo in scena una grande fuga - nascondendosi in piena vista, più vivo che mai.
INTERZONE si occupa di musica e anche di letteratura, di libri, romanzi, fumetti e quant'altro. Quindi non potevamo esimerci dall'andare a cercare quello che David amava leggere, lui che era una persona intelligentissima e colta, molto colta.
L'elenco di libri preferiti di Bowie
Descritto come un "lettore vorace", molti dei suoi album sono stati influenzati da libri. Quando Vanity Fair gli chiese: "Qual è la tua idea di felicità perfetta?" Rispose "la lettura". Semplicemente. Nel 2013, Bowie ha postato i suoi 100 libri preferiti sulla sua pagina pubblica di Facebook. Curiosando e sapendo che Bowie ha sempre avuto un rapporto complicato con gli Stati Uniti, abbiamo scoperto che nella sua lista figurano moltia testi di scrittori americani, dal Truman Capote, a Hubert Selby Jr., Saul Bellow, Junot Diaz, Jack Kerouac e molti altri. Era anche molto affezionato agli inglesi, George Orwell, Ian McEwan, e Julian Barnes e amava Mishima e Bulgakov. Molti libri di questi scrittori figurano nelle nostre biblioteche e citati quì sul blog. Non un caso. L'elenco che abbiamo compilato completo qui è reperibile in rete su molti siti, soprattutto dopo gli ultimi avvenimenti, noi lo pubblichiamo con le edizioni italiane, facendo attenzione al fatto che i titoli non tradotti non sono stati pubblicati in Italia. Possiamo scorgere la lista e pensare che ora, da qualche parte, David Bowie (o, per essere più precisi, David Jones) sta facendo esattamente la stessa cosa.

Bowie teamed up with Eno for the so-called “Berlin Trilogy” albums, specifically 1977’s Low, 1977’s “Heroes”, and 1979’s Lodger.
“David’s death came as a complete surprise, as did nearly everything else about him. I feel a huge gap now.
“We knew each other for over 40 years, in a friendship that was always tinged by echoes of Pete and Dud. Over the last few years – with him living in New York and me in London – our connection was by email. We signed off with invented names: some of his were Mr Showbiz, Milton Keynes, Rhoda Borrocks and The Duke of Ear.
“About a year ago we started talking about Outside – the last album we worked on together. We both liked that album a lot and felt that it had fallen through the cracks. We talked about revisiting it, taking it somewhere new. I was looking forward to that.
“I received an email from him seven days ago. It was as funny as always, and as surreal, looping through word games and allusions and all the usual stuff we did. It ended with this sentence: ‘Thank you for our good times, Brian. they will never rot’. And it was signed ‘Dawn’.
“I realise now he was saying goodbye.”
Nile Rodgers:Bowie enlisted Rodgers to co-produce his 1983 album Let’s Dance and 1993’s Black Tie White Noise.
